The night
How the night runs
Boarding opens at 6:30 PM at King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour. Arrive 30 minutes early — NYE is a busy period and the wharf gets crowded fast. Exact wharf number and boarding time will be sent closer to the date.
Once aboard, Luna cruises out into the harbour and takes up position inside the exclusion zone for the 9pm family fireworks and the midnight spectacular. Food is served as platters and canapés throughout the night, the bar stays open, and music runs until the event concludes at 12:30 AM. Drop-off is scheduled for 12:30 AM, though this can run later depending on water traffic after the fireworks.

Weather & the fine print
- Weather: the cruise operates rain, hail or shine. Guests can be under cover on the lower and middle decks, and the open-air rooftop and bow deck stay open whenever conditions allow. The cruise is only cancelled if authorities close the harbour or the master deems it unsafe, in which case a transfer or refund is offered.
- Schedule: times are approximate — 6:30 PM boarding to a 12:30 AM finish. Exact times and the wharf number are sent closer to the date.
- Drop-off: the event finishes at 12:30 AM, but with hundreds of boats queueing after the fireworks the actual drop-off can run later, and the drop-off wharf is subject to availability.
- Boarding: NYE is a very busy period — allow plenty of time to reach the wharf and be at the pickup location at least 30 minutes early. The vessel cannot wait for late guests and no refund is given for a missed departure.
- Under-18s: permitted when accompanied by an adult, and they require a full-price ticket.
- Access: no prams and no wheelchair access on this vessel.
- Footwear: no tall, narrow or pointed heels — small chunky heels are fine.
- Responsible service of alcohol: Luna is a licensed vessel. Photo ID is required for alcohol service and crew may refuse service or boarding to anyone intoxicated or behaving unsafely, without refund. No BYO alcohol.
- Belongings: guests are responsible for their personal belongings. The organiser and vessel operator are not responsible for lost or unattended property.
- Media: photos and video may be taken on board for promotional use — tell the crew before departure if you'd prefer not to appear.
