No logistics

The usual hens or bucks day is a chain of bookings — lunch somewhere, drinks somewhere else, a club at the end — and half the planning is just moving people between them. Someone always gets lost, someone always drops off after the second stop. On Luna the whole thing happens in one place. Everyone boards together, and everyone is still there at the end of the night.

No taxis to organise mid-party, no venue turning you away at the door for being too big a group, no splitting the crew across two bars.

Music, food and drinks

Bring your own playlist or your own DJ — there's a PA on board and the rooftop and rear deck both work as a dance floor. Bring decorations, sashes, games, whatever the plan is. Wood-fire pizza comes out of the oven through the night, which is the food you actually want on a party where nobody's sitting down.

Fully licensed bar, drinks packages, or BYO if you'd rather bring your own. Tell us the vibe you're going for and we'll set the route and the timing to match — a long sunset cruise, or straight into the night.

Yes — BYO drinks and BYO food are both available, subject to an amenity fee and a quick vessel check before your charter. There's also a fully licensed bar on board and drinks packages if you'd rather not organise it.

All fine. Bring what you like and tell us when you'd like access to set up, and we'll build it into the boarding time.

Talk to us first. Musicians, DJs and most entertainers are no problem at all — we just need to know who's coming and what they're bringing so we can sort access and power. Some things won't work on a licensed passenger vessel, so it's worth a conversation before you book anyone rather than after.

Either. Plug a phone into the PA and run your own playlist, or bring a DJ and let them handle it.

Standard responsible service of alcohol applies, exactly as it does in any licensed venue in New South Wales. Our crew won't serve anyone who's had too much, and that includes on BYO charters. It's not us being difficult — it's the licence the boat runs under, and it's the same everywhere on the harbour.

We deal with it the way any venue would — cut them off, keep an eye on them, look after them. Worth knowing there's no stepping outside for air on a boat, so if you're worried about someone, tell the crew early rather than late. We'd much rather know.

For hens and bucks charters, yes — licensed security is a requirement, and the number of guards scales with your group size. It's charged hourly with a four-hour minimum, and we'll include it in your quote up front so there are no surprises. It's a condition of operating a licensed vessel, not an optional extra.

The night runs anyway. Every guest can be under cover — the lower deck is fully enclosed and the upper deck is covered.

King Street Wharf is easiest for most groups — walkable from the CBD, simple by train or rideshare. Circular Quay, Rose Bay and more by arrangement. We'll confirm the berth and boarding time in advance so you can send it out to the group.

Boats can't wait — the wharf slot is booked and the schedule is fixed. Put a boarding time on the group chat that's fifteen minutes earlier than the real one, and chase the stragglers yourself. Every organiser learns this the hard way once.

Saturdays through spring and summer go first, often months out. Fridays, Sundays and winter dates are much more open. If the date is locked to a wedding, get in early.

No — Luna is not wheelchair accessible. Stairs connect the decks, so guests need to be able to step on and off the vessel, and prams can't be taken on board. If anyone in your group has specific access needs, get in touch and we'll talk through what's possible.
