No function room, no strangers

No function room tucked in the corner of a venue. No queueing at a bar next to a stranger's hens do. No other playlist bleeding through the wall. You get the boat, the crew, every deck and the harbour — and nobody else on board.

And it fixes the thing that kills most birthdays — the 9pm exodus. On the water there's no taxi rank out front and no "I've got an early one". Your crew is exactly where you want them: together on one deck, celebrating until the boat is back at the wharf.

Food, drinks and your playlist

Bring your own playlist, your own DJ, your own decorations and your own cake. Tell us what you're planning and we'll set the route, the timing and the boarding point around it.

Food comes out of the wood-fire oven all night — pizza made and fired on board, which is a far better fit for a birthday than a plated three-course sit-down nobody asked for. There's a fully licensed bar, and BYO options if you'd rather bring your own.

Frequently asked

Yes — BYO drinks and BYO food are both available. There's an amenity fee, and we do a quick vessel check before your charter, which we'll walk you through when you book. If you'd rather not organise it yourself, there's a fully licensed bar on board, plus drinks packages.

Absolutely. Bring it on board with you and tell us roughly when you want it brought out — we'll keep it somewhere safe until then and time it around the rest of the night.

Yes. Balloons, banners, table styling, photo backdrops — all fine. Let us know what you're bringing and when you'd like access to set up, and we'll build it into the boarding time.

Either. There's a PA on board, so you can plug in a phone and run your own playlist, or bring a DJ and let them take it. The rooftop and upper deck both work as a dance floor.

We'll agree the departure and return times when you book. Extending on the night generally isn't possible — wharf slots are booked in advance and crew hours are set — so it's worth building the timing you actually want into the booking rather than hoping to stretch it later.

Yes. Plenty of birthdays are mixed-age, and kids are welcome. Responsible service of alcohol applies as it does anywhere, so let us know in advance if you're expecting under-18 guests and we'll make sure the bar is set up accordingly.

Yes. Licensed security is required for 18th and 21st birthday charters, and the number of guards scales with your group size. It's charged hourly with a four-hour minimum and we'll include it in your quote from the start. It's a licensing requirement rather than something we add on.

The party runs anyway. Every guest can be under cover — the lower deck is fully enclosed and the upper deck is covered — so a wet forecast doesn't change the plan.

King Street Wharf is the easiest for most groups — it's walkable from the CBD and simple to get to by train or rideshare. Circular Quay, Rose Bay and more are available by arrangement. We'll confirm the exact berth and boarding time in advance so you can send it out with your invite.

Boats can't wait the way a venue can — the wharf slot is booked and the schedule is fixed. Put a boarding time on the invite that's fifteen minutes earlier than the real one. It's the oldest trick going and it works every time.

Summer weekends and December fill first. Weeknights and winter dates are far more open. If your birthday falls on a fixed date, get in touch as early as you can — if you're flexible, there's a lot more availability than people expect.

No — Luna is not wheelchair accessible. Stairs connect the decks, so guests need to be able to step on and off the vessel, and prams can't be taken on board. If anyone in your group has specific access needs, get in touch and we'll talk through what's possible.
